Welcome to the Flock
Maclane’s love of nature and knowledge of animals made him the perfect job candidate to connect the community with exotic birds at a local wildlife sanctuary. He leveraged an assistive technology grant through the Division of Services for People with Disabilities (DSPD) to obtain an e-bike – unlocking his ability to commute to his new job and spread his wings.
Everything in its Right Place
Stewart is a social being who loves to interact with everyone he meets. He has been going to his local grocery store since he was a kid and knows every nook and cranny, making him the perfect person to meticulously organize the shelves so that customers can find what they need. With support from DSPD and his job coach, Kristen, he has overcome incredible obstacles to thrive in his job and in his community.
Looking Famous
“Big D” is quite a popular guy in his community, where he keeps himself busy at a local family farm and event venue, a large chain retail store, and channels his creativity to design t-shirts for his namesake business, Big D’s Awesome Tees. With support from DSPD, his job coach Heidi, and his parents, Big D has harnessed his talents through employment to become a valued member of his “job family” while endearing himself to all he comes in contact with.
